Democratic Republic of Congo President Felix Tshisekedi may have been living in a homeless shelter in Brussels for most part of his life but the man has stolen enough to splash $8million on a mansion in Brussels and a further $12 million on its interior designs.
Sources in Belgium have confirmed that Tshisekedi has spent a total of $20 million on mansion in Belgium in what observers say is Tshisekedi’s Gbadolite located in a foreign land.
But they question his source of wealth and extravagance.
“He hired a leading French interior designer…,” said one source.
“He’s been one of the most corrupt presidents Congo has ever had. That’s why he spent most of his time drinking expensive champagnes, buying expensive watches and clothes,” quipped another source.
With general elections due in Congo on Wednesday, many analysts are predicting an end for Tshisekedi and the ushering in of a new era led by popular opposition leader Moise Katumbi.
