THE CHURCH SIDES WITH THE PEOPLE: Tshisekedi Must Consult THE Dead

If President Felix Tshisekedi has grown so stubborn as to the extent of showing our respected Catholic Bishops the middle finger, he should find time to reflect on the journey curved for him by his late father Etienne Tshisekedi.

Perhaps, he may wish to consult the dead to understand the role of the church and how the same Bishops sacrificed their lives for him to become President of the Democratic Republic of Congo at a time he was delivering pizza in Belgium.

Until yesterday, for 37 years, the Church was with the people because it sided with UDPS and the opposition in its fight against the tyrants that have ruled our country

But yesterday. Tshisekedi stood on a podium in Mbuji-Mayi and denigrated the Catholic Church and its leaders. He paid no attention to the attacks the Bishops suffered in Kasumbalesa at the hands of militiamen.

That’s because, today, the Church has chosen to lead the same fight against the new tyrant and oppressor, by supporting the people.

They have become “dangerous” and “enemies” of his government because they continue to speak for the poor.

What an ungrateful soul Tshisekedi is! He should be grateful that the sacrifices of the church ended his pizza delivery career in Belgium.

If Tshisekedi does not know, he should consult the dead members of his party to remind him that the Church’s fight is just and has the blessing of God, like the one led by his father Etienne Tshisekedi (MHSCRIP).
