STRANDED TRAITORS: Tshisekedi Abandons 40 Ex-Ensemble MPs; They Joined Sacred Union As Money Mongers

Forty former Ensemble deputies who opted to remain in the Sacred Union with President Tshisekedi have cried foul after being abandoned by the ruling coalition.

The 40 rejected their party affiliation when Ensemble pour la République pulled out of a loose understanding with President Felix Tshisekedi’s UDPS.

At the time, the 40 members of parliament hoped remaining with President Tshisekedi will guarantee money and return to parliament.

But yesterday, five months before the elections, the 40 revealed how they were left in the cold and regretting not sticking with opposition leader Moise Katumbi.

“The national deputies who left the Ensemble at a difficult time (more than 40 deputies) to form a splinter of Ensemble pour la République in order to remain faithful to the Head of State and to the Sacred Union with the aim of supporting the Government, regret to note that they are totally ignored in all the appointments,” the 40 said in a statement on Tuesday.

The DRC will go to the polls in December this year.
