SALOMON’S ORDEAL: Katumbi’s Special Advisor Taken To Military Prison

Salomon Kalonda, the special advisor for opposition leader Moise Katumbi, was yesterday transferred to Ndolo Military Prison in Kinshasa.

Salomon was first taken to a military prosecutor where he was interrogated at the Gombe Military Auditor’s office.

Military sources have disclosed that Salomon denied all the charges levelled against him including the collusion with M23 rebels and Rwanda to overthrow President Felix Tshisekedi.

Although the initial announcement suggested that Salomon will be transferred to Makala Prison, the military switched the plan and took Salomon to Ndolo Military Prison which has appalling conditions.

Salomon was kidnapped on May 30 at N’djili International Airport in Kinshasa by state agents and detained at DEMIAP, a military location.

On June 5, 2023, he was falsely charged with possession of a fiream and collusion with a foreign state with intent to overthrow the government.

The firearm charge was debunked by another opposition leader Augustin Matata Mapon who revealed that the firearm attributed to Salomon actually belonged to his bodyguard. His bodyguard, a police officer, has since been arrested.

Sources have disclosed that the arrest of Salomon is targeted at eliminating Katumbi from contesting the December 20 presidential election as Tshisekedi is dead scared of facing the popular Katanga businessman at the polls.
