PARTY MEDIA BLACKOUT: Incarcerated Kabund’s Party Bans Display Of Posters On Social Networks

Imprisoned former National Assembly vice-president Jean-Marc Kabund’s Alliance for Change (ACH) party has banned its members from displaying campaign posters in the run up to the December 20 General Elections.

The ACH party are not participating in this year’s polls as the party is not legally registered by authorities following the imprisonment of its leader, Kabund.

However, a section of party members have been displaying campagin posters of Kabund around social media putting the organization at risk of sanctions from authorities.

The party has since released a statement to warn that any members found to be circulating invalid election campaign materials will be subjected to disciplinary action.

Kabund was last September sentenced to seven years in prison with hard labour for the crime of “insulting head of state” his former ally, Fèlix Tshisekedi.
