MIGHTY VICTORY: TP Mazembe Defeat Esperance In Africa Club League

The mighty TP Mazembe has defeated Tunisia giants, Esperance, 1-0 in the newly introduced elite club competition dubbed the African Football League.

Cheick Fofana scored a powerful header in the first half of the match to give the Lubumbashi side an important victory.

Club president Moise Katumbi was in the stands as the team strolled to victory.

Mazembe were forced to play their match in Tanzania after authorities in Kinshasa refused to grant clearance to CAF officials to organize the match.

President Félix Tshisekedi and his officials declined TP Mazembe to host the match in Kenya as they viewed it an opportunity for Katumbi, a front runner in the December 20, 2023 presidential elections, to campaign.
