Ensemble Pour la Republique leader and Democratic Republic of Congo Presidential favourite Moïse Katumbi has continued attracting thunderous crowds during his tour of the North Katanga territories.
Initially blocked from landing in the town by incumbent President Fèlix Tshisekedi at the pretext of ongoing renovations at the airstrip, Katumbi has finally arrived in Kongolo this morning.
Katumbi’s arrival in Kongolo sent wild jubilation amongst residents of the town who have come out in numbers to meet their incoming leader.
He is set to hold a series of political meetings in the town today before proceeding to other parts of the North Great Katanga region.
Katumbi continues to send major perturbations in incumbent President Tshisekedi’s camp with this latest crowd pulled in Kongolo following similar turnouts during his visits of Malemba-Nkulu, Manono, Kabongo and Bukama towns.
