IMPRISONED WITHOUT A CHARGE: Joseph Kabila Loyalist, Papy Pungu Transferred to Makala Prison

Former Minister of Hydraulic Resources, in the Joseph Kabila regime, Papy Pungu Lwamba has been transferred to Makala Central Prison in Kinshasa with reasons for his arrest still unknown.

Papy Pungu Lwamba was arrested on 27th December, 2023 in Kasumbalesa of Haut-Katanga Province while on his way to Zambia on vacation.

He was transferred to Kinshasa where he had been detained at the National Intelligence Agency (ANR) headquarters for the past four months.

Papy Pungu Lwamba’s legal representive Me Dave Tshangand insists the procedure taken by the authorities in his client’s arrest is irregular and the reasons for his detention are not known to date.

“He is arrested for unacknowledged reasons. I can’t even say if there is an offense because to this day, nothing has been confessed and the authorities are saying nothing. Only those who stopped him know what it is. What I denounce is the fact that my client is arbitrarily arrested without documents. If he is criticized for something, I believe he has a natural judge for it. You can’t take someone like that without telling them the reason for their arrest. I am surprised at this way of doing things. I have written more than once, until now, no satisfactory answer. I ask for his relaxation so that he can find his family,” he said.

Imposter President Fèlix Tshisekedi has waged a battle against his predecessor Joseph Kabila, the family and all his close allies whom he accuses of having taken up arms against his government.
