GOOD NEWS FOR THE LEOPARDS: Senegal Star Sadio Mané Set to Miss Encounter Against DR Congo

Senegal have confirmed they will be missing key player Sadio Mané when they face DR Congo this Thursday in a Group B 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Dakar.

Mané, who plies his trade for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Arabian league, joined the Teranga Lions camp in Dakar on Sunday but could not train with the squad due to pain in his right knee.

The former Liverpool star had to undergo medical tests which revealed that he had suffered a lesion in the fascia of the biceps femoris.

Mané has since been ruled out of the encounter against the Leopards as well as Mauritania in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Aside Mane, Senegal coach Aliou Cisse will also have to do without midfielder Krepin Diatta and Ismail Jakobs both of AS Monaco in France.

Meanwhile, the Leopards are this Wednesday set to travel to Dakar from Morocco where they had been camping to prepare for the clash against the Teranga Lions and Togo.
