FROM PRISON TO THE SENATE: Salomon Kalonda’s Installed as Senator, Crowds Turn Up

Opposition Ensemble Pour la Republique President Moise Katumbi’s special advisor Salomon Kalonda has been officially installed to the upper chamber of the Congolese parliament as a senator during the plenary session held on Thursday, 6^th June 2024.

Kalonda who was unlawfully detained at Makala Prison for close to a year, recently returned to Kinshasa from Belgium where he had been receiving medical attention.

The elected provincial Member of Maniema Parliament proceeded to the Peuple du Palais or the People’s Palace, on Thursday where he was finally ushered into the house.

Kalonda made a majestic entry into the Peuple du Palais in the company of several executives from the leading opposition party.

Thousands of supporters and political sympathizers turned up to show support for Katumbi’s right-hand man.
