ELECTORAL FRAUD: Two Ruling UDPS Local Election Candidates Sanctioned For Involvement In Irregularities

Two of the ruling UDPS party candidates in Kwango Province local elections have been sanctioned after being guilty of electoral malpractice.

Mwatshitu Kapata Chris of Kahemba territory and and Mandjadi Ifulu Aimé-Patience of Kasongolunda constituency have being cited for committing several offences during the elections.

The two have been found guilty of fraud, vandalism of electoral materials, violence in the CENI building in for fraud, vandalism of electoral materials and inciting violence.

Kwango Province was among the provinces faced with delays in the deployment of CENI equipment for the vote on December 20.

Several centers including those in Popokabaka and Kasongolunda operated after two or three days of delays in an election that was filled with irregularities.
