DRC HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE: EU Checkmarks Pre-Election Brutality & Violence By Police

The European Union have taken note of the pre-election brutality and violence affecting citizens in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

To his effect, the EU has asked the DRC government to take corrective measures failure to which the polls will not be free and fair.

“To ensure the full integrity of
the electoral process requires freedom of expression, media, meeting, association and
movement. Any excessive or disproportionate use of force in response to peaceful protests or arbitrary arrests is inconsistent with this requirements,” a statement by EU reads.
