CRIMINAL JUSTICE: Moussa Mondo Gets 20-Years Imprisonment For Killing Wife

Democratic Republic of Congo’s former Minister of Hydrocarbons Moussa Mondo has been sentenced to 20-years in prison for murdering wife, Khadidija Alisa, after a marital dispute.

Mondo, who served as Minister between 2019 and 2021, was arrested last Sunday in Kinshasa after physically assaulting his wife who was later died at the hospital due to injuries which caused internal bleeding.

In the flagrant proceedings held this Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the Gombe high court sentenced Moussa Mondo to 20 years in prison for intentional homicide following the death of his wife, a Malagasy national.

Mondo has also been expelled from the Shiite Islam where he was also Imam while his political party the PPRD automatically excluded him for going against its beliefs on violence against women.
