Ensemble pour la République president Moise Katumbi has visited his incarcerated special advisor Salomon Kalonda Della at Ndolo Military Prison in Kinshasa.
Katumbi, who is in the Congolese capital Kinshasa, ensured that he checked on a key member of his political party being held on trumped up charges.
Salomon was brutally arrested on May 30, 2023 by State Agents byt was only charged days later.
He has been accused of attempting to overthrow the government of President Felix Tshisekedi.
Observers understand that his arrest was aimed at crippling Katumbi’s aspirations for the presidency.
The DRC will go to the polls on December 20, 2023 with tension rising in the country.
Katumbi has since called for the unconstitutional release of Salomon saying the charges are politically motivated and false.
Katumbi is in Kinshasa to attend the funeral of Ensemble Spokesperson Cherubin Okende who was murdered by suspected State Agents on July 13, 2023.
