BULLYING THE OPPOSITION: ANR Holds Back On Issuing Katumbi New Passport

The Democratic Republic of Congo through the special agents and secret service that issues travel documents have held back on issuing opposition leader Moise Katumbi his passport.

Insiders at the ANR have disclosed that Katumbi submitted the request to have his passport renewed a few months ago, but it is yet to issue him with feedback.

According to the insiders, the submission was given a few months ago and by now would have concluded.

The officials explain that a new passport or one that is renewed takes between seven to 21 days if not expedited.

It is believed that senior officials at ANR are bullying Katumbi and trying to frustrate the opposition plans ahead of the December 20, 2023 presidential election.

President Tshisekedi is in Geneva where he has made claims that no one is being harrassed for their political participation in the country although reports on the ground are contrary to the claims by the head of State.
