BROKEN DOWN:SADC Dispatches Emergency Team To Calm Down ‘Volcanic Reaction’ Over Chaotic DRC Election As CENI Chief Vows To Soldier On

SADC has dispatched a team of officials to assess the simmering crisis which is teetering towards widespread civil unrest over disagreements on the holding of the elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Intelligence information indicate that the opposition does not agree with the way President Felix Tshisekedi is handling the election process.

Tshisekedi and his CENI Kasai tribesman, Denis Kadima, have refused to publish the list of voters at the polling station per constitutional requirement. They are also planing to block the candidature of leading opposition leader Moise Katumbi.

Former president Joseph Kabila and his FCC political group has also boycotted the polls citing various constitutional breaches including tribalism in key institutions that is handling the process.

Recently, exiled former Army Commander John Numbi issued a stern warning against Tshisekedi reminding him that the December election, if not handled carefully, will mark a serious crisis in the mineral rich nation.

According to information obtained by DRCNEWSTODAY, the SADC team arrived late this week and immediately met Kadima in Kinshasa to address the political sensitivities. The said delegation will also meet political leaders and officials in the country. Today, the delegations has been meeting with opposition leader Martin Fayuu who also attempted to boycott the polls.
