AS VITA: Mama Kazadi Retains Club Presidency

Bestine Kazadi, an ally of President Felix Tshisekedi has retained her status as president of Congolese giants AS Vita Club after going unopposed at the club’s elective General Assembly held on Wednesday.

Kazadi, who has been at the helm of the club since 2020 when she first took over as President, will continue as head of Vita’s Coordination Committee until 2026.

The Belgian-born football administrator was handed a clear pass of all 121 votes as she went unchallenged at the elective General Assembly held in Kinshasa.

Patrick Baneshayi also retained his role of club vice-president alongside deputy Secretary General Jean de Dieu Kimpepe as well as Elumba Nkumu-E-Mbila who was reappointed as club treasurer.

Meanwhile, among the new entrants into the Dauphins Noirs’ leadership include Flory Mapamboli who was handed a three-year mandate as the vice-president of the football section while Gabriel Bukasa will be in charge of the volleyball section.

Evelyne Lobota will be the the second woman on the club’s committee after Kazadi as she was elected vice-president in charge of women’s football at Vita.

The club’s boxing section has been entrusted to Alphonse Katende while the basketball section will be managed by Albert Bofenge.

After being voted into office, Kazadi and her team are set to focus on readying the club for it’s participation in the CAF Champions League with the Dauphin Noirs drawn to face Angolan rivals Premeiro de Agosto in the preliminary round.
