SELFISH MBOSO: Outgoing National Assembly President Promised MPs Jeeps Once Re-elected

Outgoing National Assembly President in the Democratic Republic of Congo Christophe Mboso is said to have promised the ruling Sacred Union Coalition MPs luxurious Jeep vehicles in exchange of their support in the primary elections.

Yesterday the Sacred Union held Primary elections to endorse a candidate to represent the coalition as National Assembly President with Mboso coming up against two other challengers in Vital Kamerhe and Modeste Bahati Lukwebo.

In his message of campaign to the National Deputies, Mboso promised to use his office to grant a number of luxuries to the MPs including vehicles and increased allowances.

However, Mboso could not manage to bribe as MPs as he could to retain his seat as he came second to outgoing Deputy Minister Vital Kamerhe.

Mboso, 81, President of the National Assembly since 2021, is now preparing to retire and has since exited himself from the Sacred Union platforms.
