MANDATE FULL OF MISERY: Tshisekedi Laboring to Find Solace in New Presidential Mandate

Democratic Republic of Congo’s imposter president Félix Tshisekedi currently struggles to find even a mere second wind in his new presidential mandate which began barely six months ago.

There is no time to rest as Tshisekedi just come out of the lengthy negotiations for the formation of his new government which were laborious, exhausting and led to general discontent.

Meanwhile, frustrations have began to undermine the cohesion of the Tshisekedi and his own presidential majority.

“By ending up with 95% of the deputies coming from a hundred political parties, we shot ourselves in the foot” says an advisor to the Head of State.

Despite having gotten a lion’s share in the distribution of ministerial posts, Tshisekedi’s party UDPS is not spared from the revolt and disorder.

Secretary General Augustin Kabuya has become a target of the standing parliamentarians who are said to be tired of being forgotten by the government while hundreds of Tshisekedi supporters took to the streets to express their anger.

The Congolese Head of State begins his second term in difficulty and solitude while his allies in the majority already have the next political deadlines of 2028 in mind.

Whether they are Vital Kamerhe, Jean-Pierre Bemba, Modeste Bahati, Guy Loando and Dany Banza, all aspire to succeed the Tshisekedi even before he settles in his second mandate.

In the words of French political, economic and socialist theorist and businessman, Henri Saint-Simon: “The end of the reign of Louis XIV was so long that it made us forget the beginning.”
