KADIMA’S INCOMPETENCIES EXPOSED: Voting Extended Into Thursday Amidst CENI’s Lack of Organization

Voting in the Democratic Republic of Congo will continue into Friday after the Independent Electoral Commission (CENI) failure to fully conduct elections on Wednesday as the constitution demands.

CENI President Dénis Kadima announced on Wednesday night that the polls will be stretched to the next day to facilitate for many citizens across the DR Congo to cast their votes having failed exercise their right on the first day.

Kadima admitted that elections could not be held in several regions of the DR Congo due to a number of reasons including lack of voting materials and equipment, late opening of polling stations as well as violence.

However, Kadima has called on the presidential candidates and other stakeholders to trust him and be reassured that a transparent election is delivered.

“I ask candidates to trust me and to refrain from inflammatory statements during this sensitive period.

The results that are proclaimed will be those that will actually be expressed at the ballot box by the voters,” says Kadima.

Meanwhile, ballot counting in several other regions commenced last night after closing of voting with early signs showing opposition candidate Moïse Katumbi said to be in the lead.
