The family of Salomon Kalonda Della, the imprisoned special advisor to opposition leader Moise Katumbi, has accused President Felix Tshisekedi of planning and executing the kidnap of their brother warning should he die in military hands, his blood will be on the hands of the Head of State.
Salomon’s elder brother Moïse Moni Della has told journalists, “the arrest of
Salomon Kalonda was thought and planned by the presidency.”
Salomon was kidnapped by intelligence officers at Ndjili International Airport in Kinshasa on May 30, 2023.
Since his kidnap and detention at the military location known as DEMIAP in the capital, Salomon has been denied access to his doctors, family and lawyers.
His arrest has also prompted widespread protests across the DRC with some of the incidents turning violent and leading to injuries between civilian and the police. The international community led by embassies of the US, UK and the EU have condemned the action arguing that it was an example of victimining the rights of the opposition based on their political opinion.
