2024 AFRICAN BUSINESS HEROES: Congolese Female Entrepreneur Makes Top 20 List

Tisya Mukuna, the founder and CEO of Café La Kinoise, has become the first DR Congo national to make the top 20 list of Pan-African entrepreneur competition called the Africa’s Business Heroes.

The Africa’s Business Heroes competition continues its merry way with the sixth edition held this year.

Mukuna has made it in semi-final which is the third and penultimate stage of the competition which now has 20 entrepreneurs who will compete to be in the final top 10 list to be revealed in Cairo, Egypt next month.

Mukuna’s ranking is the best so far to come from the DR Congo in the competition having only managed to make top 50 with previously with four entrepreneurs, two in 2023, one in 2021 and other in 2020.

Twenty (20) of the semi-finalists hail from 11 countries and cover 8 sectors of activity with West and East Africa standing out to be the most represented areas.

Nigeria and Kenya, winners of the 1st and 2nd prizes in 2023 respectively, take the lion’s share with 4 representatives each followed by Egypt who who have 3 representatives.

Mukuna owns Café La Kinoise which a coffee factory that has helped revive the coffee industry in Kinshasa and the DR Congo.
