The Kinshasa residence of Moïse Moni Della, a traveling companion of the late Etienne Tshisekedi and former deputy minister of information, this afternoon came under attack from ruling party cadres known as Wewas.
Della is the elder brother of Salomon Kalonda Della, the special advisor for politics of popular opposition leader Moise Katumbi.
Salomon was kidnapped on Tuesday by state security agencies and is being held arbitrarily at a military location with his family, doctors and lawyers denied access.
Moise Moni Della has been critical of the treatment of his young brother by the Felix Tshisekedi regime which has upset their supporters.
Today, they sent hundreds of motorbike supporters to invade his residence.
According to Adrian Seyes of Congo Libres, the residence of Moni Della in the Ma campagne district, an affluent area of the Ngaliema commune in Kinshasa was swarmed by nearly a hundred people around 3 pm.
The “Wewa”, motorcycle taxis, often recruited by the ruling party to do dirty work besieged the entrance.
Police arrived 30 minutes later but the crowd was only dispersed after two hours.
Moni Della has been accused of “talking too much to the media” following the illegal arrest of his younger brother so they wanted to intimidate him.
The development has been described as part of an episode exemplifying the rapid deterioration of the political climate in the DRC with President Tshisekedi watching the rise of chaos in the country.
