TSHISEKEDIS FEASTING ON KATANGA: Tshisekedi & Family Continue Plunder on Lualaba Minerals

Democratic Republic of Congo’s scandalous president Félix Tshisekedi and his family have once again had their names mentioned in the excessive looting of the nation’s natural resources.

Three Katangese organizations have joined forces to publish a report titled “The Children of Katanga”, in which Tshisekedi and several members of his family have been incriminated in several and shady mineral-plundering activities.

Tshisekedi’s cunning wife and First Lady Denise Nyakeru, his evil mother Maman Marthé and his brothers Christian as well as Thierry have all been exposed in this latest report.

Lualaba Province’s corrupt governor Fifi Masuka Saini is also an accomplice and acts as she acts agent clearing the pathway for the Tshisekedi family’s looting of minerals among other revelations.

Read the report:

They (Katangese organizations) blame the first circle of power, in alignment with Chinese economic operators for the illegal exploitation of the B4 tailings basin in Kolwezi.

“In Kolwezi, here in Lualaba, everyone knows this basin,” explains one of the signatories who insists on the quality of the copper extracted.

“He titles between 15 and 18%, which is one of the highest concentrations in the world.”

The Democratic Republic of Congo is the second largest producer of copper behind Chile and its soil is, according to several studies, full of more than 10% of the world’s reserves of this ore, the price of which has jumped 30% in three years.

“Without this benefiting, once again, either the state coffers or those of the province,” continues the signatory of the letter.

“We often talk about the ‘curse of natural resources’, to justify the reasons that would explain why a country that has abundant natural resources would be unable to develop economically. In Congo, we should rather talk about the curse of the families in power and their voracious appetite,” he continues.

Anger, exploitation and denunciation in Katanga, DR Congo

Three associations point the role of the Congolese presidency in the illegal exploitation of minerals. This letter, received by La Libre, castigates the behavior of the wife of the head of state, Denise Nyakeru, of Belgian nationality.

The authors explain how, in complicity with a Chinese intermediary, it would seek to “seize one of the strategic basins of Gécamines, valued at several hundred million dollars.

A little further, the authors continue: “elements of the Republican Guard forced the installation on the site of Chinese operators without any legal title. We are informed that since this intrusion, nearly 120 40-ton trucks disappear every day with our raw ores.”

This issue only increases tensions between Katangese and Kasaians. The former no longer hide their anger at what they present as a monopolization of their wealth by ruling family from Kasai.

“The gluttony of the Tshisekedi”

The inhabitants of Kolwezi that we contacted evoke the role played by the governor of the Lualaba province, Madame Fifi Masuka, presented as “the faithful among the faithful of the Tshisekedi clan”.

If the presidential couple, when they stay in the country, are often reluctant to move away from Kinshasa, they no longer disdain going to Kolwezi where they can take up residence in a new presidential palace whose construction began under the previous governor, Richard Muyej, close to Joseph Kabila, before being finished under Madame Masuka, who is also very close to another key element of Félix Tshisekedi’s power in Greater Katanga, Dany Banza.

The head of the political party Avenir du Congo (Aco) is also at the origin of the meteoric rise of former Prime Minister Sama Lukonde, who became, after the elections of December 20 to 27, president of the Senate.

Which demonstrates the crucial role of Dany Banza and the importance of Lualaba in the “heart” of the Tshisekedi clan.

“The first lady would have been particularly sensitive to the profusion of marble inside the building, according to an evening visitor to the couple,” the Africa Intelligence site recently wrote in an article entitled “In ex-Katanga, the mining far-west of the Tshisekedi clan”.

An article which also alluded, among other things, to the presence in the region of Anthony Tshisekedi, one of the president’s sons, appointed to the board of directors of Sicomines, a partnership between Gécamines and a Chinese company.

Brothers Christian and Thierry Tshisekedi (also of Belgian nationality) are also mentioned in the clan’s business in Lualaba, like “Maman” Marthe, the president’s mother.

A presence of the presidential clan which heats up the minds of many Katangese people.
