Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has arranged a tripartite meeting with former DR Congo president Joseph Kabila and Alliance Fleuve du Congo (AFC) & M23 rebel-coalition leader Corneille Nangaa in Kampala.
The meeting set for Saturday was arranged after DR Congo’s president Félix Tshisekedi begged and got Museveni to organize this meeting.
Tshisekedi aims to obtain a ceasefire agreement from the meeting as the AFC/M23 rebels continue threaten his government with their continued advancement from the provinces of North & South Kivu.
Kabila’s entourage has since confirmed that the former president has warmly received Museveni’s invitation but is yet to formally confirmed his participation.
Nangaa also received the invitation and confirmed his participation on Saturday.
