Association Africaine des Droits de l’Homme (ASADHO) leader Jean Claude Katende has rubbished impostor president Félix Tshisekedi’s claim that the Democratic Republic of Congo is on the right path concerning respect for human rights.
Last week Tshisekedi claimed that there was a campaign aimed at minimizing the efforts made by his government in the area of human rights.
Tshisekedi went on to boast that his government had improved the state of human rights which were well respected in the country since he took office.
But Katende, an ardent defender of human rights and good governance, has described Tshisekedi’s claim as cheap propaganda.
“President Tshisekedi can say that human rights are doing well in the DRC, but we who work on the issue on a daily basis: we say that his regime tramples on human rights. That’s the truth, the rest of the regime’s propaganda,” Katende said.
