[OPINION] HAS TSHISEKEDI MURDERED SETH KIKUNI: If They Killed Chérubin Okende, What Have They Done To Kikuni?

It’s more than 10 days now that opposition leader Seth Kikuni was picked by imposter president Felix Tshisekedi’s secret service. His wife, children, lawyers and physician have no access to him. This is the worst form of human rights abuse. But above all, is Seth Kikuni dead or alive?

We ask this question because Tshisekedi doesn’t care about Congolese lives; if he did, he would be in east Goma enduring the same suffering as our people. If Tshisekedi cared, he would have shown remorse and care for the memory of Chérubin Okende.

Today, for no apparent reason Seth Kikuni has disappeared from the face of the city. And Tshisekedi doesn’t care, busy sipping on expensive whiskey.

Right now, we are told Seth Kikuni is not with ANR, the same people who picked him, and not with DEMIAP, Tshisekedi’s militia terrorizing Congolese.

We agree with Martin Fayulu when he demands the whereabouts of Seth Kikuni saying, “The information that the ANR does not hold Seth Kikuni is of great concern. How then can we explain that the two people arrested at the same time as Seth were released by the ANR, and that they returned the next day to the ANR to retrieve their phones? There is clearly something suspicious. The ANR must clarify Seth’s situation, and I ask human rights organizations to actively get involved in this matter to avoid any unfortunate eventuality.”

Apart from Fayulu, Olivier Kamitatu, the presidential spokesperson for Moise Katumbi is also demanding answers. The continued holding of Kikuni without due recourse to the law violates the sanctity of our constitution.

Kamitatu says, “the violation of constitutional rights, recognized to every Congolese, is unacceptable. The tragic situation of @sethkikuni, arbitrarily detained in undignified conditions, illustrates the harsh reality of #RDC: a disfigured country, a damaged country, a Nation whose soul is trampled by leaders who are leading it down a fatal slope. A maxim should resonate in the minds of those charged with ensuring that the Constitution is respected. ‘He who sows injustice reaps misfortune.’ Seth Kikuni must be freed!”

We remind Tshisekedi that a kasai like him will not be president for Congo forever. There was Mobutu before him. Where is he? As a reminder, Mobutu was buried like a loner in Morocco.

If Tshisekedi is not careful and continues to treat Congolese lives with such contempt, his ending will be disastrous and worse than that of Mobutu. We urge Tshisekedi to respect the position of Congolese and their voice in the management of national affairs.

Seth Kikuni deserves the respect of everyone. Should our fears that Tshisekedi has murdered Kikuni, his time in power will end in a catastrophe.
