Tshivuadi Mansanga Junior, a puppet ally of President Fèlix Tshisekedi from the Kasai region, has submitted a petition to the Constitutional Court contesting the validation of popular opposition candidate Moïse Katumbi’s eligiblity to contest the 20 December 2023 Presidential Elections.
Mansanga’s petition which is the genesis of Tshisekedi’s new scheme to use the Constitutional Court to bar Katumbi from the presidential race was submitted on Saturday, 21 October 2023.
In his petition, Mansanga has called on the Constitutional Court to invalidate Katumbi’s candidature for among other things, “failure to prove his Congolese origin.”
In a bid to strengthen their conspiracy against Katumbi, Tshisekedi’s agent, Mansanga has also fabricated a number of illegalities including corruption and embezzlement that he claims were committed by the former Katanga Governor.
“The Constitutional Court must reject the latter’s (Katumbi) presidential candidacy and return it to the General Prosecutor’s Office near the Court of Appeal for the continuation of the criminal procedure (tautology with the request of August 10 and 23 August 2023)” Mansanga’s petition reads in part.
Katumbi’s nomination file was recently approved and declared valid by the electoral commission CENI, a development which unsettled the Tshisekedi camp who had ordered for the removal of the Ensemble Pour la Republique party leader from the ballot.
