INSECURITY: Journalist, Alain St Pierre Mwamba, Still Missing After 72 Hours

Popular Congolese journalist and internet personality Alain St Pierre Mwamba has in the last several hours gone missing.

Mwamba is a journalist well known for his commitment to the campaign for press rights and freedom as well as independence of the media.

His whereabouts have been unknown since Wednesday while his phone has been unreachable, raising concerns.

Mwamba’s family have since declared him missing and expressed worry over his safety.

Journalists in the DR Congo have since demanded the authorities to intervene on the matter and do everything to guarantee the freedom and safety of the press in the country.
