A new scandal involving the DR Congo’s gold mining has been unearthed in which revelations have shown billions of dollars lost by the country every year.
Local investigative journalist Jean Pierre Kayembe Tatu has raised alarm of the tons of gold which is savagely siphoned off Congolese radar by the Chinese.
At least 50 tons of gold is fraudulently transported from the DR Congo’s Kalemie region of Tanganyika Province each year to be sold in neighboring countries.
This represents nearly 5 billion dollars laundered from the country’s resources each year in figures that send shivers down your spine.
