The Rwandan Defence Force (RDF) have denied reports suggesting that Republican President Paul Kagame has taken seriously ill and receiving medical attention abroad.
In the wake of unverified social media reports, widespread speculation has emerged suggesting that Kagame is critically ill.
The postings which claimed to have been issued by the army surfaced on Monday, June 23, asserted that President Kagame was experiencing a “serious health crisis” and was under intensive medical care.
However, this statement has since been confirmed as false by the Rwandan Army.

Multiple reputable sources have verified that the announcement was a hoax, not issued by any authorized government or military authority.
Rwandan government institutions remain fully operational, with no indication of any health emergency concerning President Kagame.
