Water shortage has hit the Goma, one of the major cities in North Kivu.
A civil society organization, Lucha-DRC Africa, called for a peaceful protest to demand improved service.
The organization was also demanding the resignation of the director of the utility company REGIDESO.
LUCHA officials state that at least 90% of the water tanker trucks that help mitigate the crisis to supply water in Goma belong to REGIDESO members.
The organization believe the crisis is deliberately created to advantage utility officilas in the business.
