The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Senate will oversee a crucial session this Thursday, 15th May 2025 as it examines an appeal against former president Joseph Kabila Kabange.
The Ministry of Justice have filed a request for the Senate to life Kabila’s immunity to pave way for legal proceedings against the senator for life.
This session to be chaired by Senate president Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde could mark an important step in the legal proceedings against the former president of the republic.
Kabila has been accused by his successor Félix Tshisekedi of being behind the AFC/M23 rebellion.
