Two children, aged 14 and 9, have been found dead after allegedly committing suicide in two different houses in North Kivu town of Butembo in Bulengera commune.
According to a report by the civil society in Butembo, these children are said to have taken their own lives and were found hanged.
The two victims included a 14-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy.
“The girl hanged herself in her room, while the boy committed suicide in the room where the utensils are kept” a report by the civil society said.
Cases of suicide by hanging have been increased in this commercial city of North Kivu in recent times with causes underlying these cases not yet elucidated.
