Opposition Ensemble Pour la Republique leader Moise Katumbi has called on the Congolese population to remain hopeful for sanity and democracy to be restored in the country following the shambolic 2023 General Elections.
On Monday, Katumbi launched a extraordinary meeting for his political party Ensemble pour la République on the ongoing political issues in Lubumbashi, Haut-Katanga Province.
In his speech, the presidential candidate of the last presidential election called in on the population to mobilize against the illegitimate results of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) which he described as mediocre.
“We do not have the right to throw in the towel in the face of mediocre results in all areas of national life” Katumbi said.
The Ensemble Pour la Republique party’s two-day extra ordinary meeting aims to assess the participation of the party’s elected officials into the country’s institutions the last elections.
