VOTE OUT TRIBALISTS: Catholic Bishops Urge Population To Remove Failures

A Catholic Bishop in the Democratic Republic of Congo has urged the Congolese population to vote out purveyors of tribalism and corruption to restore hopes of developing a better country.

Bishop Donatien Bafuidinsoni of Inongo in Mai-Ndombe says, “for a better future. other than that of suffering, of misery, we
must renew the political class, with new figures, not the same ones for decades, not those who have displayed their amateurism, who embezzled the country’s money, who shamelessly enriched themselves and who formed themselves into a band of “sappers” (fashionisters) and enjoyers instead of building the country.” Bishop Bafuidinsoni says.

Bishop Bafuidinsoni says those who never visited Mai-Ndombe when in power but have now found time to show up to beg votes do not represent the interests of the region.

“I invite you to say no to tribalists and nepotists (their words and actions accuse them, because they sow hatred and preach division between peoples with consequences that can be disastrous for us, while they go and their families, flee abroad),” Bishop Bafuidinsoni.

“We hear a lot of things, we see the candidates or their “electoral commissioners” passing through
the territories or cities of our Province of Mai-Ndombe, where they have never been during the entire mandate which is ending.”

The clergyman warned citizens of Mai-Ndombe against falling for the trap.
