Democratic Republic of Congo leader Félix Tshisekedi has launched a scathing attack against Catholic priests as well as his opposition leaders in the country.
Tshisekedi went public in Mbuji-Mayi and called the Catholic priests enemies of the nation who are practicing witchcraft against him.
He has also accused the opposition of being unpatriotic for not praising the efforts of the Congo Armed Forces (FARDC) despite their failure to contain the M23 rebels in the eastern region of the country.
“The opponents say nothing when the FARDC advances. They are the enemies, the sorcerers of the country. The other enemies and sorcerers of the Congo are in cassocks,” he added.
Tshisekedi has since sworn to eliminate the practices of the opposition and Catholic priests in the country.
“I will put an end to their witchcraft,” Tshisekedi declared.
With the motion to revise the Constitution likely to fail, Tshisekedi has turned to convicting and eliminating the opposition and Catholic priests who have strongly opposed his resolve to change the law to live as president forever.
