Respected rhumba star Koffi Olomide has veered into politics touching on the current affairs in the Democratic Republic of Congo ahead of the December 2023 polls.
Asked about the upcoming elections, Koffi says he sees no justification for those in power to seek re-election.
The celebrated rhumba star would be stepping on the ego of the ruling class but the message will resonate well with the opposition and ordinary Congolese who are dissatisfied with President Felix Tshisekedi’s leadership.
President Tshisekedi will be challenge by either Moise Katumbi, Martin Fayulu, Delly Sesanga and Augustin Matata Mapon all.of whom have declared their intention to contest the polls.
Tshisekedi is seeking a second term in office.
