The Conférence Episcopale Nationale du Congo (CENCO) have strongly opposed the dubious attempt by impostor president Félix Tshisekedi and his government to amend the nation’s constitution.
Tshisekedi has launched a campaign to change the DR Congo’s constitution in order to secure an illegal third term in the 2028 presidential elections.
However, Tshisekedi’s attempt has been received with stiff disapproval from several key institutions including the national episcopal conference of bishops.
CENCO General Secretary Abbott Nshole said the amendment of the constitution attempt is a selfish move that will only put the nation into further jeopardy.
“The problem is today’s politician who forgets the people first. It is in his interests. For us bishops, changing the constitution is very dangerous because it can destabilize the country in the current context where the country is not stable,” he said.
