National Assembly President Vital Kamerhe has teamed up with embattled former Finance Minister Nicolas Kazadi to counter state auditor, Inspection Generale des Finances (IGF), Inspector General Jules Alingete Key as well ask Republican President Félix Tshisekedi.
Kamerhe holds a firm grudge against Alingete for having sent him to jail back in 2020 for two-years on allegations of embezzling US$50 million of public funds while in his office as Deputy Prime Minister of Economy.
Despite his acquittal in 2022, Kamerhe still longs for revenge against Alingete who is at the helm of Nicolas Kazadi’s own case of embezzlement of public funds.
Kazadi is facing charges of embezzlement of public funds amounting to US$400 million and US$13 million allocated for borehole drilling and street lighting projects which were over-billed and not completed.
Kamerhe who is also preparing to rival Félix Tshisekedi, has since stretched out his hand to Kazadi to help him out of his fraud case and render Jules Alingete incompetent.
Kazadi is also prepared to join forces with Kamerhe in his ambitions to replace Tshisekedi as president of the Union Sacreé and presidential candidate in 2028.
