The politico-military coalition of the Alliance Fleuve du Congo (AFC) and the M23 Rebel Movement have revealed that it has captured over 100 Congolese army (FARDC) and members of their supporting militia group.
The AFC/M23 movement have released footage from a discreet territory where they currently hold the FARDC soldiers and the local Wazalendo miliatia elements.
In the footage, the soldiers and Wazalendo elements are being recruited to join the M23 in their rebellion against the DR Congo government.
Amongst those being held hostage at the M23 base are minors who had been at the war front under the Wazalendo militia which is supported by the Félix Tshisekedi regime.
The AFC/M23 movement continue to advance in strategic areas of North Kivu with its leader former Independent Electoral Commission (CENI) President Corneille Nangaa threatening to seize control of the airport in the provincial capital city of Goma.
