Oliver Kapend, a journalist from a local TV station Mikuba TV, has been kidnapped by agents from the National Intelligence Agency (ANR) in the of a video shooting in Kolwezi, Lualaba Province of DR Congo.
A video has gone viral on various social media platforms where Kapend is seen shooting a report before he was whisked away by a group of armed men in ANR uniforms.
Kapend is also seen been brutalized in the presence of police officers as he is bundled into an army jeep before been taken to a destination yet to be disclosed.
No official statement by the authorities has so far been released over the incident.
Kapend has been known for having covered several stories in which the incompetencies, corruption and discriminations of the Félix Tshisekedi regime have been well exposed.
