DR Congo’s opposition leader Seth Kikuni has remained in detention at the Makala Central Prison without standing trial even after the passing of the 15-day deadline for his trial to take place.
Kikuni is still waiting for charges against him to be finalized after the 15-day deadline having elapsed and has not received notification from the court
Kikuni’s arrest has since strengthened the narrative it has been done with illegally as his continued stay in prison is a violation of the code of criminal procedure.
It must also be noted that after having spent 30 days in the National Intelligence Authority (ANR) without any valid reason, Kikuni has now spent 18 days on no legal basis at Makala.
He was brutally arrested on 2nd September by Félix Tshisekedi secret service just few days after he rejected the imposter president’s bogus call for dialogue between his government and the opposition.
