Embattled former Minister of Finance Nicolas Kazadi has been implicated in yet another financial scandal in which he is said to have embezzled over FC1.2 trillion.
Already in court for alleged embezzlement of US$400,000 of public funds in borehole drilling and street lighting projects, Kazadi is now set to be put through new legal proceedings for mismanaging the nation’s resources.
Kazadi is alleged to have proceeded and repaid a domestic public debt through an emergency procedure, for an amount of 778 billion FC, including 451 billion FC of uncertified commercial debt.
This reimbursement was made without respect for the law, without justification or consistency with an excess of 504% of the allocated credits.
The matter was brought to the attention of the National Assembly by MP Christian Mwando Thursday who bemoaned obscure management of state money.
