FOOTBALL: Leopards To Face South Africa In International Friendly

DR Congo national team will face South Africa in an international friendly to be played next month as part of the preparations for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The South African FA (FA) on Sunday confirmed the Bafana Bafana will host the DR Congo on 12th September as the two nations kickstart their preparations for the World Cup.

The venue for the encounter to be played in South Africa will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

The Leopards are set to regroup in the coming weeks as they prepare to face Sudan in their final Group I encounter in the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in the Ivory Coast.

Sebastien Desabre’s side are just one point away from claiming their spot at the AFCON as they lead Group I with 9 points.

Meanwhile, South Africa who have already qualified for the AFCON, will be using to prepare the World Cup qualifiers as they will not be engaged in any competitive action in the September international window.
