Democratic Republic of Congo’s imposter president Félix Tshisekedi has once again demonstrated his lack of willingness to ending the ongoing war in the eastern region of the country after deliberately canceling an crucial meeting aimed at initiating peace talks with Rwanda.
Tshisekedi had been scheduled to meet European Union (EU) special envoy for the Great Lakes region Johan Borgstam who had arrived in Kinshasa last week on a delicate mission aimed at promoting de-escalation between the DR Congo and Rwanda.
Borgstam had been seeking to support peace talks between the two countries to be provided at regional level, particularly in the context of the Nairobi and Luanda processes.
However Borgstam’s mission in Kinshasa could not be fulfilled as he left the DR Congo capital last Thursday just as he had arrive thanks to Tshisekedi who chickened out of the scheduled meeting.
The EU special envoy has since arrived in Kigali where he is set to meet President Paul Kagame with the Rwandan government confirming the scheduled meeting between the two leaders.
