The planned meeting between DR Congo president Félix Tshisekedi and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame has been officially cancelled.
The meeting has been as cancelled after the Rwandan President insisted that he will only meet with Tshisekedi if the latter agrees to dialogue with the M23 rebels.
The two leaders had been due to meet in Luanda, before Angolan President Joaõ Lourenço as mediator, to discuss ways of settling the tension between the two countries in DR Congo’s eastern region.
Insecurities in the DR Congo’s eastern region continues to worsen each day with the escalation of the M23 rebels who are supported by the Rwanda government.
