EVIL GOVERNMENT: Late Cherubin Okende’s Widow Requests Authorities For Release of Her Passport

Late former Communications Minister Cherubin Okende’s widow, Samba Malata Michèle, has officially submitted a request before the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) to return her passport which was confiscated by the authorities in February, 2024.

In a letter addressed to the Director General of the DGM in Kinshasa, Mrs Okende’s, lawyer, Laurent Onyemba Djongandeke, reiterated the request for the authorities to return the document to his client who needs to travel abroad for medical treatment.

The request submitted on 25th October 2024 is the second correspondence sent by Mrs Okende with the authorities having not responded to the request in April.

“It is not legally admissible for your services to continue to keep a document for unfounded reasons,” Mrs Okende’s correspondence reads.

Okende, a spokesperson of leading opposition leader Moïse Katumbi, was brutally murdered after being kidnapped by suspected state agents in Kinshasa last year in July.
