The Archdiocese of Kisangani, one of the victims of the June 2000 six-year war between the Ugandan and Rwandan armies, has received US$2 million compensation from impostor president Félix Tshisekedi as he begins to drum up support for his illegal third term of office.
Tshisekedi claims the US$2 million given out to the church to repair the damage caused during the war.
He presented the cheque to Monsignor Djadi Léonard, the auxiliary bishop of Kisangani at the headquarters of the Special Fund for Reparation and Compensation for Victims of Uganda’s Illicit Activities in the Democratic Republic of Congo (FRIVAO) this Thursday afternoon.
Tshisekedi has launched his campaign to gain the church’s support in his bid to amend the constitution to allow him contest the 2028 General Elections.
