BLAME GAME PRESIDENT: Tshisekedi Accuses Kenya’s William Ruto For Dropping Nairobi Peace Process to Support Rwanda

Democratic Republic of Congo’s clueless leader Félix Tshisekedi is once again shifting the blame on others for his failure to restore peace and end the bloodshed in the eastern region province of North Kivu.

Tshisekedi has accused Kenyan President William Ruto of having stopped the East African Community (EAC) formed Nairobi Peace Process that was aimed to bring peace to the eastern DR Congo through dialogue.

“There are two processes. There was the Nairobi process driven by Uhuru Kenyatta, which unfortunately was subsequently managed by the new President William Ruto. He managed it very badly” Tshisekedi said yesterday during an analytical discussion organized by the Africa Security Initiative and the Brookings African Growth Initiative.

“The process is almost dead except for the fact that the designated facilitator Uhuru Kenyatta stayed. He still kept power, but the process is almost dead. President Ruto took up the cause of Rwanda. I cannot say more.”

However, it should be recalled that Tshisekedi had played a major role in the broke down of the process by his arrogant decision to withdraw membership from the EAC who had initiated the peace talks and appointed former Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Since 2022 when the DR Congo signed up to the EAC, Tshisekedi stopped membership contribution to the regional body which accumulated into a US$13 million as of July, 2024.
